The children'sĀ  clinic at the Gulu Regional Referral Hospital has received a lifeline with a boost of assorted equipment meant to support its acute ward.

The equipment worth shs44 millionĀ  includes oxygen concentrators, saucepans, a large fridge among others are a donation from the Italians under Soleterre.

According to the hospital principal Walter Uryek-Wun the facility has been experiencing difficulties in the acute ward after several concentrators broke down.

"Government is overwhelmed when it comes to health matters, and when we have partners with similar vision and mission to ensure that our population is healthy we welcome them," he said.

On a monthly basis Gulu Regional Referral Hospital receives an average of 360 cases in the acute ward.

The equipment was delivered by the Soleterre country representative Adrian Ssali.

"This is not something that we can always continue to sustain but we call upon the government that much as we are able to fill in some of these gaps it should be a temporary intervention by development partners and government should come in and take ownership," he emphasized.
